You can switch ELDs at any time, but you must keep your records. FMCSA requires carriers to keep ELD records and supporting documents for 6 months, and drivers must be able to show the current day plus the previous 7 days at an inspection.

LOGWAY pricing

  • $15 per driver per month
  • 14-day free trial
  • ELD hardware: $150 (PT-30 or IOSix), free same-day shipping, cable included if needed

Step by step

  • Read your current contract for cancellation terms and device-return rules.
  • Export your logs and keep copies for at least 6 months.
  • Order your new device before you cancel. LOGWAY ships the same day.
  • Install the new device on your next 10-hour break, so you aren't switching mid-shift.
  • For the first 7 days, keep printouts or PDFs of your previous logs in the cab.
  • Reconnect broker tracking (Highway, Trucker Tools) to the new ELD.
  • Cancel the old service and return any rented hardware.
